Combining Theatre Experience with Business Knowledge
Having spent the last twenty years as a professional actress, playwright and performance coach, I have an extensive understanding of live performance and shaping language to convey an effective message.
Unusually, perhaps, this has been combined with a parallel career in the finance industry working as an accounting associate and company director. These two disciplines allow me to offer a truly unique approach to public speaking training, that utilises my business acumen alongside my in-depth understanding of effective performance.
Combining creative approaches with business understanding, I want to enable you to speak with the passion and flair that your ideas deserve.
The Idea
When Covid -19 struck, and our world went into shutdown, I decided I wanted to utilise my understanding and experience across two industries to help others find their confidence and get back on their life journey with a spring in their step.
When I returned to freelance teaching in secondary schools, I discovered that a lot of students were struggling to get up and speak in their classes – lockdown had drained their self confidence and drama teachers were struggling with class participation.
I realised that if young people could do with a little extra help to get back up in front of groups, then most adults probably could too.

Understanding the Nerves
Despite having appeared on primetime TV, and performed in some of the largest theatres in the world, I think it is important to mention I wasn’t always a confident speaker. In fact, when I started secondary school, I hated getting up in front of people but some fantastic teaching opened my eyes to the possibility of performance and using my voice for change.

This allowed me to go on and study Drama and Education, at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, and then progress into a career as a professional actress, writer and performance teacher.
It is for this reason I know exactly what it feels like to be the student who dreads being chosen to read aloud in class, the audience member who fears being called up on stage and the employee who lies awake worrying about their big presentation or interview.
Why I do what I do?
My passion is, and always has been, working with people of all ages to help them find their authentic voice and enable them to overcome their personal obstacles.
Successful public speaking coaching is not, and cannot be, one formula that works for all but instead requires an individual approach.
My bespoke programmes, utilise a wealth of creative and performance techniques that, I believe, will enable you to find your natural speaking style in an unintimidating and supportive environment – allowing you to find the speech you truly want to give and become the person you want to be.
